America’s Next Top Ho…
Yep…that’s me. hahaha. I wore a dress with a full skirt…and it was super windy out yesterday . Anytime i did a shot lying down or sitting up, the wind blew my skirt up to my waist! It was like free peep show time. I ended up having to shove my skirt in between my legs, which i’m sure made for some great photos.
But the shoot was fun…we shot at Gantry State Park in long island city. I grew up in Queens my whole life and even go to church in Astoria…how did I never see this place before? it was gorgeous! the view of manhattan from across the river was fantastic. the weather was perfect…mid 70′s partly cloudly (I REALLY wanted a few clouds in the sky during the shoot….i love how clouds photograph).
I had my hair up in a formal half up do. Half way through the shoot, AG asked if i would be okay with taking my hair down . I was like uh…because i KNOW my hair and i know it takes the shape of the updo (once i put my hair up in a ponytail, i can’t take it down). But i did it…and it was a MESS. My hair was plastered into place with hairspray. So when i took it down and tried to brush it out with my fingers, it just became a tangled blob. I was like…oh no, i’m going to look like i have an 80′s perm. But i guess it just felt fuller than it looked. But i LOVED my poof on top…I am definitely going to have a poof on top for the day of, no matter what my hair style is. I kept patting the poof all day (well, until i took it down).
I thought some of the poses were weird…and a lot of them felt really awkward…but it made sense after seeing the pics. My abs and lower back are actually sore today from straining to hold myself up in these poses.
My favorite shots of the bunch were the candid shots though…..
I look like i’m doing something skanky. but i was joking around with AG and asked her to make my calves look skinny in the pics. She kind of half dared me and said something like, “i can only do that if you show your legs…and lenny, why don’t you peek underneath!”. And i jokingly hiked my skirt up…and this is the end result. Had i know she was taking pics, i probably would have hiked up the skirt to mid thigh instead of underwear level. HAHAHAHA. But all of this took place in mere seconds…but i like it because i just look like a wild mess.
For this one, AG took us to a jungle gym…and she wanted us to go down the slide together. But to get to the slide, we had to walk across one of those swingy bridges. Ok…i HATE the swingy bridges..i think they’re kind of scary. I don’t like to walk on unsecure things. And i’m in stilletos with gaps an inch thick between the planks. So i was like..ok forget this, i’m taking off my shoes. I get on the bridge, and lenny starts jumping on the bridge as hard as he can….and i’m holding on to the side rails and just screaming. Finally he gets off and i’m starting to walk towards more secure ground and this little kid come on behind me and starts imitating lenny and start jumping like a mad man on the bridge!!!! So in this shot, lenny was helping me get off the stupid bridge, with that stupid kid still jumping up and down like a monkey. Again, i didn’t know she was taking shots, because I thought she was just waiting for us to get to the slide.
This is my favorite shot. It’s not the prettiest one, but it’s the most emotionally raw shot. This is EXACTLY how we are together. This was kind of in between poses. He had just made some kind of smart remark…and he ALWAYS lowers his head and giggles to himself after he makes these remarks (because he thinks he’s hilarious). And this is exactly how I laugh…i throw my head back and I have this big, wide, buck toothed grin. My mom always tells me NOT to laugh like this…she said it’s, “un-lady like”.
I also like this one because it’s so different. And it has the pepsi sign in the back….you can sort of see the real nitty gritty LIC in this shot! (oh…and this is why i wanted clouds…i LOVE them in photos)
The other shots in her preview are in her blog http://angelicaglass.bigfolioblog.com I also put them in my xanga photo album. I can’t wait to see the rest!! There were so many other locations and poses that we did. We did a few that were similar to the couple above us in AG’s blog.

hahaah jeyi, heck no. I can’t do that. I can’t curl my hair in the back of my head (or anywhere else on my head) I got it done by Sissi Chan….i was originally going to hire her for the wedding, but she’s only one person and we won’t have time to get all of us done…i need a two person team. I liked her work though!
