I got the weekend of June 17th off!!!!  Keep that night open!!!

Ah....it's so much easier to find coverage during the summer vacation
months....all the kids WANT your shifts cuz they want the $$$$.

So the mp3 player that a certain-relative-of-mine got me for my
birthday did not come with a case.  And the only one that the
company makes is this clear, plastic thing....which resembles thick
saran wrap.  It's cheap....but shipping actually costs MORE than
the case for some reason, so i'm totally not going for that. 
There's this other british company that makes this nice leather case
for it, but it costs around $50 USD...and i am CERTAINLY not doing that.

So while i was on the search for a case, i came across a forum
discussing the same issue.....and there was a guy who realized that the
mp3 players fits inside an Altoids chewing gum container.  He
punched a few holes in the container....and VOILA......a compact, hard
shell case!!!

So i tried it.....and now i have an mp3 player case!!! for $1.50!!!  Here are some pics!!!

My "case"...with the hole i punched out of it for the headphone
jack.  I lined the case in denim so the mp3 player wouldn't get
scratched by the metal.  The case is actually just a hair longer
than the mp3 player and i didn't want it rattling around....so i made a
mini-"pillow" so it's snug.

Man, am i GHETTO or what?!!!!!

So far in my first week:

1)  I have scored 4 free retractable pens that have LED lights built in
(think glow sticks)....and they light up everytime you allow the pen
part to come out.

2) i have scored 3 free notepads

3) My preceptor took us with him to a dinner at a fancy
shmancy steak house sponsored by Boerhingers (a big pharmaceutical company) .  I had the filet mignon

4) Next tuesday, we get to go to ANOTHER dinner at legal sea foods (i think we get lobster!!!),
sponsored by some other pharmaceutical company (I don't remember
who...and i don't really care!).

I LOVE THE PHARMACY FIELD!!!!!!

I love psych patients.  They are quite the characters......

I don't think i am ever going to wear heels again (at least not my boots).........should i go ahead and hem all my pants to fit my flats?!!!!

Movies I've watched recently:

1) Born into Brothels: A++++++++++++++++  SOOOOOOOOO good

2) Hustle and Flow: A....terrence howard is VERY good in it.

3) The Family Stones: B+...pretty good.....wasn't really expecting much from it

4) In Her Shoes: B ... eh...wasn't as funny as the commercials made it seem

*EDIT*  For all you Canon digicam users out there.....is it true
that the S2 IS has macro capabilities up to ZERO cm's?!!!!  Are
there other (smaller) canons out there that can do that?!!

I've always been more partial towards nikons because they can get me
the closest without my having to buy another lens.  But as far as
general photo taking...i think the picture quality isn't as good as my
current sony (in terms of the low end point and shoots)....but the
sony's macro capability sucks.

Today is the first day it won't rain in over a WEEK.  And i'm not
talking drizzle...it has been raining for a week here for REAL. 
So today, it's supposed to be a beautiful 70 degrees and sunny.....then
tomorrow, THUNDERSTORMS....and more rain until MONDAY.

WTH...how can there be so much rain?!

And it's not like today's dry weather is so great for me
either....because when it's dry and sunny and the spring, that means
ALLERGIES.  I was so congested last night, i DREAMT about having a
stuffy nose.  And i have sneezed 20 times since i woke up already

I can't believe rotations start monday....i haven't done ANY of the
pre-studying that i wanted to (what else is new?)  ok...i will
start my pre-studying TODAY...............after America's Next Top
Model!

...is it warm enough back in New York for me to wear a skirt on Sunday?  Or is it still pants.....?

So in the OR pharmacy, we have this "Inner Bitch" daily calendar with daily quotes.  And today's quote was:

How BRILLIANT is that?!  I think that will be my life's motto.

So a few days ago, i tried out a new brownie recipe.....it was inspired
by Ben & Jerry's Cherry Garcia ice cream.  So i found a couple
of cherry chocolate brownies and kind of mixed and matched....so this
is how it ended up:

I tried to make is swirly on top....but it turned out pretty
good....the consistency was something between a brownie and a
cake.....so like a REALLY REALLY moist brownie...or a really dense
cake.  But the best part was the maraschino cherries (which i
LOVE).....
