Month: May 2005

  • So, i'm back in bawston.  As soon as i stepped off the train, i noticed it was like 50 degrees...and raining.  SO TYPICAL.

anyhow, i had a great 4 days at home.  Being home any longer than 3 days is long enough for me to forget that i'm just visiting.  When i woke up this morning and had to go to work, i totally felt like i was in a different world because i had gotten used to being home.  Sigh.

But the lock in was really amazing.  i had the best time....on the train ride home i was thinking about it...and i didn't even THINK about the internet or the TV (except when i first got there and read the rules).  It didn't even enter my mind ONCE.  That in itself is a miracle!  But it was very uplifting and I felt sooooo at home.  I was back to my old self again. I really needed this weekend especially since i have been scheduled to start training on the dreaded 7th floor satellite this week.  *deep breath*

    But yeah...good friends...good company...good times.

See you all july 4th weekend.

  • I'M HOOOOOME!!! New York, i LOVE YOU!

Some birds made a nest in the tree next to my window.  Now the mom bird sits all day on my window sill and chirps angrily at me whenever i walk by.  She also leaves half eaten worms and lays big bird turds all over my window sill.  but she is not scared of me at all...not even when i make lunging motions and knock on the window pane.  She is an alpha-bird!

  • Might i ask why at the end of MAY, it is 42 degrees out.....and with the wind, it actually feels like 34 degrees.  THIRTY FOUR!!!!!!!!!  And it's supposed to be officially summer in less than one month?!  I have to pull out my down jacket again....i wore a wind resistant polartec 300 fleece yesterday...I was FREEZING.  And the heat had been turned off for the year, so my apartment is FREEZING.  THIS SUCKS.

  • Just a week and half left.......it's not too late, you can still donate  to help find a cure for AIDS.

  • Almost two weeks into summer break and i have:

    1) finished two novels - i only read during work breaks

    2) watched napolean dynomite (i finally understand those Vote for Pedro shirts....they popped up everywhere in boston after the world series, so i seriously thought it was another outrageous Red Sox fanatic t-shirts for pedro martinez!!!)

    3) watched all the tv i usually tape during the week (i now have this habit of grabbing the VCR remote to fast forward the commercials even though i'm watching it in real time).

    4) done zero loads of laundry

    5) worked every single day :(

THe plan for tonight.......Hotel Rwanda, some lime tostitos and salsa.  i can NOT WAIT!  I LOVE SUMMER BREAK!  my last summer break of my life...sniff sniff....next summer, i start rotations, so i will have no break.

Things i SHOULD do this summer:

    1) Reread my pathophysiology text book

    2) Reread my pharmacology textbook (2,000 pages...not including index)!!!!

    3) Go to the dentist to check on my wisdom teeth...but i don't think my school insurance covers much of the extraction...so i may have to wait it out for two more years....and hope it doesn't cause me too much pain or damage.  i have not been to the dentist in a VERY LONG TIME

    4) PLAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • naima is america's next top model! YAY!!! she was my favorite!

i know i must sound like a clutz with all my work related injuries, but i assure you, they are quite the commonality in the IV room.

Anyhow, on to more important matters.  victoria secret has discontinued the line of bras that i wear...the only line that fit  me.  So now i need to find new ones because the bands have become all stretched out and loose.  Any recommendations for the typical asian bosom?  i prefer frontal coverage...if you know what i mean!

  • great....today, thanks to a stubborn syringe needle cap, i poked myself a nice little hole in the ball of my middle finger on my left hand.  yes...the part of the finger that is used to press down on guitar strings.  At least it wasn't gushing blood and will probably be  unnoticed by tomorrow.  it is now kind of tender and inflammed.....it's kind of ironic...i was making a Remicade IV...an anti-inflammatory!!!!

  • Looks like i'm playing the guitar for the lock in....with my rusty, rusty fingers....it's been YEARS.  Any song requests?  Preferrably songs with only the chords C,G,A,D or E in them.

I must forewarn....i will probably not sound very good...so you all must sing extra loud to cover up! ahahahahaha!

  • i have found coverage for memorial day weekend!!!

I forgot what it feels like to work everyday.  It really sucks.  School is much better...if it weren't for the exams and studying.  I wouldn't mind just going to class, but not having to take exams.  I worked two double shifts...yesterday and today...along with the regular week and i am EXHAUSTED.  I could barely stay awake to watch ER yesterday night.  But it's fun being in the IV room during the day again....hanging out with my o-lang crew!  I always feel like i've regressed a decade when i'm in there (in a good way)...with all the name calling...and the trash talking...and the throwing things in each other's hoods and at each other.

So what are the details for the lock in....someone fill me in please.

  • American Cities That Best Fit You:

    60% Miami
    55% Boston
    55% Los Angeles
    50% Chicago
    50% New York City

AAAW yeah....miami!!  Now how the heck does boston or LA fit me better than NY!!!  THey have nothing that i like!

so it's kind of amazing how much information i crammed into my little head this year.  Last year, we were told to buy this mini binder full of drug cards....sort of like flash cards...with drug names, what they look like, mech of action, indications, etc.  i think it had like 250 or something...the top 250 drugs used.and last summer, i had taken out all the cards (alphabetized) and rearranged them according to therapeutic class (which was written in a little box in the corner of each card).  My intention was to study them before my fourth year, so that i would be prepared for the barrage of work to come.  So it took me a while to sort them out...and after i sorted them out....the cards just sat there.  For the whole summer.....for the whole year....and i just took them out now and put them back in alphabetical order.  I wanted to study from them during finals but couldn't freakin find the cards i needed because they were no longer in alphabetical order.  But as i was going through them, i realized that i went from not knowing ANY of them to knowing all of them...in just one year.

Unfortunately, i can not empty that stuff out of my head like i would normally do.  I need to retain the stuff for next year's Disease State management class....where we learn about diseases and how exactly to treat them.  So...THIS SUMMER...i will spend all summer reviewing my drugs....yeah....i really will....

ANyone read any good books lately?!!!!  i need some reading material for the summer....while i'm, um...reviewing my drugs.  recommendations please!

ANyhow, i sent out another plea for coverage memorial day weekend to no avail.  Stupid people...always willing to ask for coverage but never willing to cover.  It doesn't look good, guys.....
