So I saw this PBS special about the Seychelles Islands…and now i SOOOOO want to go. Ever wonder why Indians are so much darker than the other asians?! It’s because way back when all the lands were one big land mass and the earth started shifting to create continents…..asian broke away WITHOUT india. India was still part of africa for some time. THEN india broke away from africa and travelled north to fuse with asian to become south asia.
Anyhow, during the journey to asia, bits of India broke off…..and became islands. Usually islands are formed from underwater volcanoes…so the islands are actually hardened lava. BUT, continents are made mostly of granite, so the Seychelle islands aren’t volcanic, but rather, massive pieces of granite. So their landscape consists of HUGE pieces of rocks. It’s really amazing, actually. And since they’ve been pretty much isolated since their creation, their faun and flora are very unique (sort of like the galapagos). They have these 100 foot tall coconut trees with FORTY pound coconuts shaped like a female’s down there area.
But, alas…i think it’s expensive to go….but you can actually rent out your own private island. This will have to wait until i start work……..

A woman’s “down there” area? I wanna eat these coconuts! Facinating entry. That’s why India is called “the Indian sub-continent”.
