  • Have I already mentioned how i hate the professors at my school?
I had a kinetics exam on 11/8.  He usually gives the exams back in
class, but on that friday 11/12, the prof tells us that we have to go
pick up our exam from his office on monday 11/15 and gives us a time
frame of ONE HOUR.  And that was the only available time.
The only way to know your grade is to pick up your exam.  But
anyway, i already had an appointment for that one hour time period and
so i emailed him and asked if there were alternate times to go pick up
the exam.  my prof is also the dean of students, so i knew he was
really busy.  I waited a week and there was no
response.   So for the next week, i kept dropping by his
office (he doesn't have set office hours) to see if he was there, but
his secretary always said he was out, or at a meeting.  So FINALLY
today, he was in...and i went in and told him i needed to pick up my
    third exam.

And then he starts SHOUTING at me....and telling me that i'm
disrespectful for waiting so long to get the exam.  he kept
yelling "WHY DO YOU WAIT SO LONG" and "HOW DISRESPECTFUL" over and over
again.  And i'm like WTH?!  I told him how i EMAILED him the
day he made the announcement and i got no response  and how i
dropped by his office multiple times.  And he starts yelling " i'm
ALWAYS HERE...i'm ALWAYS HERE".  And i'm trying not to yell
back...so i calmly tell him that he secretary said he was out...and he
ignored me and kept screaming the above comments over and over
    again.

So i get my exam back...and i did okay...not great because i made some
really stupid mistakes, as usual His exams are SUPER LONG...and all
calculations and essays...he even tries them himself...and makes it so
that he, a pharmacokinetics PhD of 25 years, can finish the exam NO
FASTER than 1 hour (which is the time we're allotted).  Meaning,
we're expected to do the exam just as fast or FASTER than him if we
want to double check.  Needless to say, no one ever has time to
double check, so we always lose points on  careless errors.
    oh, and no partial credit.

So i thank him nicely and as i leave he goes, "You better study hard
for the final."  As if i were doing badly in the class or
something (which i'm not...i'm just not aceing it).  SO
RUDE.  Just like our other dean (we have two...i think i've
blogged about the woman witch dean before).  Where do they find
these people...they obviously have no regard for the student population.

oh, and i could hear him yelling at another student as i was waiting to
pick up my exam.  She must've asked him to explain a caluclation,
because all of a sudden i hear "this is VERY SIMPLE...i don't
understand why you can't do it.  Go home and try to figure it out
and you'll see how easy it is"  !!!!!!???!?!?!?!  WOW!

  • so i tried going shopping on black Friday and come home empty
handed.  NOTHING FIT.  I used to love Ann Taylor and Ann
Taylor Loft...and would fit fine in an XS or 0.  But I haven't
gone in a while, and when i went on friday, nothing fit me at
all.  The XS shirts would hit PAST my hips and were SOOOO
big.  I was like what is going on?  And i didn't lose weight
or anything.  I went to BR, Gap...same deal.  All these cute
    cheap things and nothing fit.

I read online somewhere that all these bigger stores CHANGED their
sizing to accomodate the increasing American size.  So basically,
to help American women feel better about themselves, they shifted the
sizing charts down one size.  That's all fine and good, except
what about us smaller ones who now can't fit into anything?  I had
a hard enough time finding stuff to fit me before...now it's
impossible. I know heavier people hate it when skinny people complain
about weight related issues....but since i'm short with a long torso
(i.e. short with short legs), I already can never find pants that
fit.  And with my wide feet, i can never find shoes that
fit.  And now i can't find tops or jackets that fit.  And i
can no longer shop at Gap, BR, Ann Taylor, j. Crew, Express and most of
the stuff at departments stores because now everything is way too
big.  I guess i have to shop the kids line or something now.
    Or shop European.

AAAAAAAARGH.  SO FRUSTRATING to see all these sales...and spend
HOURS finding stuff...and then coming out of the dressing room with
NOTHING.  After shopping ALL of Friday and ALL of saturday, i
ended up with two shirts (actually one shirt in two colors...they're
actually a tad too big, i'll have to throw them in the wash or
something) and a pair of gloves (the only thing that fit perfectly).

oh...and thanks to everyone who came out to hang! i had a lot of fun!!!  FINALLY!!! hahahaaha!

I also made nice with the Pommes Frites guy and he doubled my Large
fries...so i got TWO large fries.  And then he said if i finished
it, he would give me more.  So the few of us dug down and finished
it...and he gave me another regular on top of the free large.....and
three extra dips.  His name is Steve...and he says next time i go
back, he'll hook me up again! NICE!  however, i ended up feeling
pretty nauseus the rest of the night from all the fries i shovelled
    down.

  • *EDIT*  oops...must clarify.  This is the opinion that my
PARENTS HOLD...not me nor my very good friend.  I just wanted to
see if it was a generational thing....or if it still applies
today.  Repeat....neither myself nor my very good friend think
this way....he does NOT care!!! sorry for the confusion!

And i am VERY easy to get along wiht!!!
    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------

In the age of Mr. Moms and female CEO's....do guys really care if their
wife has a higher degree than them.....or if the woman has a higher
paying job....i mean, given that the relationship itself is fine. Does
it really matter?! will that ruin a marriage?!

    thoughts please.

  • sigh.... 1.5 hours of sleep last night, and now i'm off to work the
evening shift.  I am TIRED. two more days....two more days....then
i get to breathe that stanking NY air.  I can't wait.

Anyhow, this weekend, I purchased myself a fluffy down pillow.  I
used to avoid down pillows because I've always heard that people with
allergies shouldn't use them.  And plus my dad got some really
stiff down pillows from somewhere on sale and i could always feels the
feather ends poking into my face.  Anyhow, my non-down pillow was
getting VERY lumpy...even fluffing it couldn't get it un-lumpy and i
HATE a lumpy pillow.  It's just so LUMPY.  So i went to Bed
Bath and Beyond down the street (I can basically get anything i want
down the street) and got a hypo-allergenic down pillow.

Let me tell you guys, that is one DARN GOOD pillow.  When you put
your head on it, the down parts and fills the areas right next to your
head, so if feels like the pillow is hugging your head.  and if
you want to readjust where the bulk is, just a few pats will do.
It is THE BEST.  I set my alarm clock early this past weekend cuz
i planned to study for an exam i had today.  but i didn't hear
them at all.  Slept right through it.  That's how good the
    pillow is.

So....even if you have allergies, go get yourself a nice, soft down
pillow.  But please do feel it before you buy.....some of the
cheaper ones use feathers instead of down (hence the poking).

  • I'm back from work.  my job has a policy that if you volunteer to
pick up a shift, they'll pay you time and a half.  So since i have
a relatively  easy week (only ONE exam this week), i picked up a
shift to thank them for giving me thanksgiving weekend off.  TIME
    AND A HALF baby!!!!

I'm coming back next weekend! YAYAYAY!!! They just posted the work schedule
for next week...and I'm supposed to work next weekend (we work strictly
every other weekend, so basically, you know which weekends you have to
work for the rest of  your life)....but for some reason, the boxes
next to my name are blank.  No shifts are filled in....which
means, I don't have to work....which NEVER happens...you usually work
when you have to work...no exceptions.  And as of Sunday, I still
couldn't find anyone to fill in for me.  But whatever, I don't
have to work! it's a miracle! God is good!  AND i had a med chem
exam scheduled for the monday after that weekend...and the prof moved
it to Wednesday so that we could "eat all the turkey we want"!

    YAYAYAYAYAYAYAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • have you guys heard the Jay-Z/Linkin Park collab?  that is genius.

  • i got my haircut again....FINALLY. I used to get it cut like once a month when it was shorter. but now i go months without a haircut. It's okay if you have long hair...but when your hair is short, it's not good because then your hair permanently looks like it's in that growing out stage.

So I think i've finally grown out all the layers from my super short haircut from last year. So now, no matter how long i go without a haircut it should look okay cuz everything is pretty much one length.

but looks like i won't be coming back for Thanksgiving sunday :( No one is willing to pick up my shifts. I'll be back wed - friday...then i have to rush back to work the 7AM shift on saturday. BIG SIGH. i guess i'll see most of you the weeked before Christmas
