Today, i bit my tongue…REALLY REALLY REALLY hard. I actually chomped off a sliver of tongue…and now it’s attached by a flap…and i don’t know what to do with it…i just stuck it back….it looks mad nasty. i should rinse with listerine or something…but i’m not idiot, that will hurt. darn…i always do things like this to myself.

Report from Fenway:

All is relatively calm.  I saw on the news that the police tried to shepherd the group towards Brookline and Park Drive…i was like oh….great….exactly where i live.  There was a lot of throwing bottles and cans at police and the horses (I still don’t get why people do that..it’s so rude).  One horse got hit..and you saw it swing around real fast and go towards where the can came from….and the police officer had to jerk it away from going into the crowd!!!The police were TOTALLY decked out in riot gear….cuz they had to use a lot of pepper spray and smoke bomb to try to disperse the crowd.  But they used like formations and bum rushed the crowd when they got bad and everything…and no guns this time…just really big sticks.  There were a few fires and tearing down of traffic lights and stuff.

But it was funny cuz i’d say 90% of the post-game reporting was on crowd control…and they’d have a tiny window of Busch stadium and the celebrating Red Sox team.  That’s wrong…they just did a great job…and the focus is on those stupid kids.  But one reporter kept referring to the fans as “the protesters”…and then kept having to correct himself.  So he’d be like “it seems like the protesters are getting rowdier…..oh, i mean the fans”…and they kept saying, “surely there’s a better way to celebrate than to start a giant mosh pit”.

But the MAPD ran a MUCH tighter ship than last week…so the crowd was better controlled.  They should’ve hired the NYPD to come up here to do crowd control.

Today, in my herbs class, we had group presentations.  And it’s an informal thing, so the group presents for 10-15 mintues and then comes up with an interactive game.  So my group has three members..myself, K, and this other girl.  The other girl is so weird…we picked topics in the beginning of the semester…and a few weeks later when we had to confirm our topic, the other girl turns to me and says, “oh…can we switch topics…i already did research..but i did it for your topic instead…by mistake.”  i was like waht?! how do you research another topic by mistake? but i hadn’t done any work for it, so i was like fine, wahtever.  Turns out my original topic is very well documented….more so than the other choices we had.  so i was like AAARGH.  so fine. 

So for her presentation, the class (myself included) could not understand anything she was saying…she was like whispering into the screen….not even facing the class.  So….for our game, we did it like Hollywood Squares.  Do you all know what Hollywood Squares is? Cuz no one in the class knew what it was (the other girl didn’t know either)!!!!! So….we were the people in the squares…and we had planned to come up with some T/F statements that the class could either agree with or disagree with in order to get their X’s/O’s.  So the other girl decides NOT to make up statements…and thought that she could just come up with stuff on the spot.  Turns out, every time it was her turn to ask a question, she would ask it in an open-ended manner….like “what are some of the uses of …..”.  And me and K were just glaring at her and whispering TRUE or FALSE QUESTIONS.  So that on top of the class not understanding her…everyone was like WHAT? WHAT? I THOUGHT IT WAS T/F?

So at the end, the class had to critique our presentation…and of course we got a lot of “the game was confusing”….”I didn’t get the questions”….”I couldn’t hear ….”.  i was like GREAT….all our negative comments were towards HER…but we get a GROUP GRADE. AAAARGH.  ANd that is why i hate group projects…there’s always that ONE.

There was this woman on TV who has had many of her temporary crowns in for THREE YEARS. She got freaked out by the procedure the first time, so she refused to go back to the dentist. And now she has many of these temporary crowns which fall out everytime she eats or opens her mouth…and it’s painful. She won’t laugh or smile unless she covers her mouth with something (kinda like on Friends when Ross colored his teeth too white)…even in front of her family. This woman was a former model, so she’s gorgeous…but she developed some kinda of mental thing where she’s thinks she’s ugly because of her teeth…but in reality, her teeth look fine…they just fall out sometimes…..weird.

speaking of which….i have not been to the dentist in a few years….my school doesn’t have dental insurance….and i’m too old to be covered by my parents. I will have to wait until i graduate and get me a J-O-B. Until then, my SONICARE will have to do the job. eeeek.

Darn.  my worst nightmare come true.  I feel for St. Louis…even more than I feel for the Yankees.  We weren’t expected to win this year….those three wins against the bosox were shockers.  St. Louis was supposed to win WITH EASE….and instead they got swept.  But at least, now the bosox can stop whining about the curse.  Now it’s the Met’s turn to make it on up! hahahahaha!

And those darn helicopters are flying so low that the headlights shine into my apartment (i live on the top floor)…..and the crowd has already started throwing bottles….and shooting off illegal firecrackers.  I got a big presentation to give tomorrow….if I can’t sleep cuz of the ruckus, i’ll BE PISSED.

Can someone tell me if there are hamsters in the NY petco’s? like bigger Syrian ones (not the tiny little dwarf ones).  I have been TRYING for over a MONTH to get one here…but the petco’s here NEVER have them? just a bunch of empty cages.  THey say they get shipments every thursday…but when i go on saturdays? they’ll say they sold out.  SOLD OUT?! EVERY WEEK?! how many hamsters do they stock? so now they have two black bear hamsters….but i don’t like black bear hamsters because they’re all black and kind of remind me of NY rats.  So lemme know if there are hamsters….like the light colored blond/golden ones.

too bad i ain’t got no money…although this is not that bad price-wise…considering.

i can hear the crowd from my apt.  and OMIGOSH…were they flying fighter jets over the stadium?  That was SOOOOOOO loud!!! It’s scared the $#$&^*# out of me.  I’m actually not watching the game…i’m STUDYING.  And all of a sudden i hear a BIG ROAR….like when a plane flies overhead…but like a million times as loud…and everything in the apt started rattling.  I actually had to cover my ears, it was that loud.  At first, I thought it was a plane flying way to low…and I got a little scared…but it flew by way too fast.  my heart is like pounding.  That was really loud! hhahahaha.

And buddhaman, even if the Yankees team were to blow up this year, I’d still be a fan! As long as we can keep Jeter!!   We can give away JORGIE…it’s okay!!! It’s not like our team was that great this year…..

Landlord turned on the heat FINALLY! YAY!!!!! it’s 40 degrees outside when i wake up…so it was COOOOOOLD.  but now it’s toasty! nice!

Okay, i really gotta start buckling down and studying hard core. I’ve turned up my study habits a notch this semester…but it’s no where near hard core…and my grades reflect that. I WANT A’S. i can do it. i still have the last half of the semester. hmmm…mebbe not HARD CORE HARD CORE….but just harder core….which means i may have to cancel my weekends off policy.  hee hee.  these practically all-nighters are killing me….i can’t recover like i used to. I’ve lost so many points to careless errors….from me being so tired while taking exams.

I need at least 4 hours sleep to take an exam effectively. I slept 1 hour last night for my med chem…and that was not good. my brain was mush. Every time i blinked, i felt like extending that blink JUST a little longer. It’s never good to want to nap while your taking an exam. sigh. I tried studying the way the prof told us to….by recognition of chemical groups. NOT GOOD. when you see a whole bunch of structures together….they all look the same. i will stick to my power memorization method next time. Stupid professor. he’s one to talk…..many of the structures that he draws on the board (he tries to do it from memory) are WRONG.

sigh…….I am tired.

Another report from Fenway:

shoot their non-lethal weapons (they used like pepper bullets or something instead of real ones) in order to control the crowds. You can see people climbing traffic light poles and pulling down the traffic lights…and then the next second, a cop shooting them down. but the details are hazy regarding the girl that died…but apparently she died in the hosptial last night after getting hit.

After the two minute report on this death, the news went right back to it’s happy reports of the upcoming series. waht? death? whatever…..GO BOSOX…that’s what’s important right?

What else….people lit rolls of toilet paper on fire and then started hurling them at the policemen. There were also several cars that were burned to nothing.

IT”S ALL SO STUPID.

So apparently all the security used for the DNC was not enough to control the Bosox fans…and now they are going to recruit police from all over the state and other “agents” (not sure what that means…..FEDERAL agents?) in preparation for the games this weekend. Great. That means, I will be held hostage in my apartment until the series is over. Please, astros/cards (i hope astros because the bosox fans fear losing the world series to clemens), let it be swift. As convenient as it is, perhaps it was not such a great idea to live in Fenway.

And what is UP with people with no sense of home loyalty. There are SO many so called Bosox fans up here that just moved to boston like last year….and now they are hard core Bosox fans, talking trash with the best of them. Some of them come from states with fairly good teams. Liek at work, this one girl is from minneapolis….moved here last year for school….wants DESPERATELY to transfer to a school in minnesota so she can go back home…..yet became a red sox fan after moving here. her explanation, “well….i’m a bostonian now”. Yes, you LIVE in boston, yet you don’t WANT to live in boston….you WANT to live in minnesota…and you won’t even support the Twins? that’s messed up.

This other girl is from Florida which has TWO teams to choose from. She also “became” a bosox fan after moving here last year. Sometimes she’ll sport a gators cap and a red sox shirt at the same time. i’m like…how can you just SWITCH like that?

Half these kids that are out there “celebrating” and doing stupid things aren’t even really fans. they just moved here….and since it’s the IN thing to be a bosox fan, they hop on for the ride. And do the cool things everyone else is doing…like creating chaos.

Buddhaman thinks Yankees fans are classless cuz we threw stuff on the field. Sure, we may throw stuff on the field…but we leave it on the field. We don’t go out of the stadium and wreck the neighborhood (although it IS the south bronx. hahahaha i don’t think people would dare!). if the Yankees fans are classless….what are the Bosox fans?

There is a driver in that car…it’s not empty…and it’s a Mass plate.

This dude is throwing cherry bombs.  So i guess people weren’t throwing things off the roof.  It was probably this sound.
