So...yesterday, after eating a nice Thai lunch with my family, i noticed that my tongue started feeling really weird. Like swollen and raw. but i hadn't burned it on the food or anything. And i did once have my tongue swell up...that's when i learned i was allergic to amoxicillin. But i hadn't eaten anything out of the ordinary, so i was just like, whatever.
Later on that night, my tongue was still feeling uncomfortable...to the point where i lost my apetite and couldn't even really eat dinner. So i went to the bathroom and i saw like these little patches on the tip of my tongue...like lesions almost. And i was like what the heck....? so I went online and did a search on tongue disorders...and i found it.
I suffer from Benign migratory glossitis AKA Glossitis areata migrans AKA Geographic Tongue (because all the patches make your tongue look like a map). 3% of the US population suffer from it...and of course I'm part of the 3%. It's supposed to be hereditary...and occurs mostly in people who have sensitive bodies = people who have allergies and asthma....people such as myself. It's totally harmless and it's usually triggered by eating spicy or acidic foods (such as the curry i had for lunch...and the leftover curry i had for dinner).
And now, for your viewing pleasure, I would like to share pictures of my Geographic Tongue with you all. Warning: not for the faint of heart....j/k it's not that bad. OH...and the blue/darkness on my tongue is due to the popsicle i had just eaten...those red, white and blue ones...mmmmm so good.
Oh...and as far as my laptop decisions go...i may end up with an Apple ibook...the powerbook is nicer...but i don't need all that stuff. After doing extensive research...apples are actually surveyed to be the most reliable company when it comes to laptops and desktops....and the people surveyed are computer geeks, whose opinions i value. Plus, i can get a pretty good discount trhough school...and i love the way it looks and the way it's designed (nothing sticks out...everything is loaded into the computer...like CD's are slot loaded)...and i'm a sucker for nice visuals. It's small, light and the battery lasts 6 hours, or so they say. i used Apples all through HS and the beginning of college, so i'm familiar with the software. so April, i may be borrowing stuff from you!!!
