  • You guys have a treat today...TWO posts in one day...all because I have a day off (and it's thunderstorming out).  But since a certain sister of mine thinks that i have the BEST blogs on xanga, I will do this for her.  Plus I ain't got nothing to do...and there's no good TV on til Oprah.  I LOVE my days off.  I don't have very many of them...and they rarely fall on weekends.  So I get stuck at home because there's nothing to do except shopping, which is not that fun here because Boston doesn't really believe in SALES racks.  FULL PRICE SUCKS.

So, i spend my days off watching TV...or blogging for your entertainment...or surfing the web (does anyone say that anymore?) for important things...like how to pull of an elegant, yet cheap wedding. hahahaha.  I'm like Monica on friends...when the time comes, I'll have a big binder of stuff...cross referenced, of course.  just kidding.  sort of.  kekeke.  It's fun.  I especially like www.theknot.com where you can find basically anything you need.  They have this advice board where "knotties" gather and swap ideas.  Each knottie has a profile where they can post pics of dresses/bouquets/etc they like and some post their wedding pics.  It's addicting and a great time wasting activity for a professional procrastinator, such as myself.  I've spent many a finals night looking at stuff on www.theknot.com, and consequently having to pull an all nighter.  But how can you read pharmacy stuff when there are wedding dresses to be looked at...ceremony ideas to be read...reception locations to be found?  They should pay me for this plug.

But I will, for sure, have the BEST wedding...after yach....who we are all still waiting for.  YACH YACH YACH!! (mike's going to kill me!)

On a totally different and sadder note...marlon brando...I am ashamed to admit that I have never seen The Godfather.  I've seen countless brain cell killing movies such as, How High (in the theatres, no less)...yet, I've never seen The Godfather *hangs head in shame*

hmm...what else can i ramble on about...................i'll be back as soon as I think of something.  But now, back to theknot!

  • Ahhhhhhhhh....it's a good time to be a YANKEES fan!  The Red Sox thought they had us....but once again, the yankees magic pulled through.

but EVERYONE here has been sporting a Red Sox jersey these past few days.  And i'm like, you all LOST...you wear the jersey if you WON...to celebrate.  Up here, it's like part of their fashion trend...red sox logos are everywhere.  OH, and where there's a game on, it makes the nightly news...it's usually one of the first things they report on...before international news and all that...and separate from the sports.  It's so sad....their games are all they live for.

And it's funny cuz they think they're BETTER fans because they're more obsessed with the rivalry.  I mean, new yorkers want to beat the red sox, but we're not obsessed with it.

*They wear their jerseys all the time...whether or not there's a game that day.

*A LOT of people have these shirts that say "I hate the yankees".  It's a really ugly shirt...just your typical undershirt with big letters.

*There's apparently a  BLOG site called Yankees Suck (or something like that) where the "author" just trash talks the Yankees and people log on daily to read it as if it were the newspaper.

*People come up to me at work (where I am the only Yankees fan apart from these two other girls who don't work as much, so they're never there) and BRAG about how the sox are ONLY two games behind (earlier in the season) as if they're rubbing a victory in my face.  I'm like...BEHIND is the key word...you shouldn't be bragging about anything if you're BEHIND!

*There is a broadway MUSICAL up here (and i use the terms broadway and musical VERY loosely) that's all about the Red Sox and the curse.  I'm SO serious. a broadway musical.  About the Red Sox.  And people go to see it.

All in all, i think it's kind of sad.  But if the Yankees hadn't won in almost a century, maybe i'd be like that too....maybe..................nah, i ain't no SUCKA!

  • So i have this fire escape thing outside my window...excpet it's not really a fire escape...it has everything BUT the ladder that connects it to the floor below, which is kind of weird, and possibly illegal.  I guess i can always tie my sheets together and shimmy my way down...it's only 4 floors.

But anyhow, since i live on the top floor, the pseudo fire escape is like a natural habitat for the pigeons in the area.  I'm serious.  Sometimes there are up to 10 pigeons just chilling out on my fire escape.  So all day, i can hear them coo-ing and flapping their wings and all that good stuff.  It's kind of fun to watch them though.  I think they're a family, because sometimes i see them grooming each other...just like rodents do!  AND they have these territorial fights.  They all like to perch on the window sill because I guess it's more comfortable than standing on the thin wire slabs of the fire escape.  So the biggest pigeons will sit on the window sill...and sometimes another pigeon will try to squeeze in.  And then, the big pigeon gets PISSED...and starts pecking at the other one.  So they'll sit there pecking at each other.  It's rather amusing.  It's like having my own pets...because I'm not allowed to have any here :(   I should name them, or something.
