  • sigh...i is TIRED...i have three exams next week...and a grant proposol to write by tomorrow...I haven't started doing any of it.  i feel so lazy...why can't I just stay home at watch America's Next Top Model and reruns of The Real World?

I totally want to see The Passion.  I've heard people complain that it's TOO violent.  But what do they expect?  the movie IS about the last 12 hours of Jesus' life...and His last 12 hours were probably HORRIBLE...i'm sure the movie doesn't even do justice to His suffering.  The whole point is that He went through THAT for us.  What do they want? a movie about Pontius Pilate ordering Jesus to get a MASSAGE?!

But I heard that a hospital near school is offering internships at $11 an hour...as opposed to the 9.50 I'm getting at Tufts Med.  So....given that I'm not entirely content with the staff at Tufts, I want to quit and go to the other hospital, which, even if their staff isn't great, will have greater benefits in terms of pay and convenience.  The thing is...i basically JUST started at Tufts in October, which wasn't too long ago.  What's a good length of time to quit? Would staying until this coming fall be an adequate amount of time without seeming like I'm just using them for training and then dumping them? (Training an intern costs the pharmacy $3000...and once that intern gets that training, it's pretty universal amongst all the bigger hospitals up here, so that makes you a very marketable candidate because it means the next place you work for will be very willing to hire you since they don't have to spend money to train you).  I realize that my salary sounds ridiculously low and it may sound like i'm debating between one penny or two...but EVERY penny counts, man...cuz I is PO'!!!!!

  • Aaaaah...yet another valentine's day weekend is over.  So how did I spend this sacred holiday of love? I spent it praying to the PORCELAIN GODS after i got FOOD POISIONING from the SEAFOOD plate at a chinatown SHABU SHABU place.  dirty chinamen.

So yeah...we were supposed to go get some lychee ice cream and bubble tea afterwards for dessert.  But i couldn't make it....I had to stop in at Sweet n Tart and have my very good friend fake order something while I um...left a valentine's day present of my own. MUAHAHAHAHAHA.  i know, i'm so disgusting. there was this lady waiting outside the bathroom door knocking the whole time too.  hahahaha.

But then it got really bad...my vision started to fade...like everything looked like it was polka dotted...and then i couldn't hear anything.  It was soooo scary.  I thought i was going to pass out...so I started forcing myself to breathe really fast, while my very good friend had to practically drag me along because I couldn't see the sidewalk.

oh well...after 10 rounds of giving offering to the porcelain gods, I was wiped out and we spent to rest of the night watching Emeril's chocolate competition.  And that was my valentine's day.  We didn't do presents this year, cuz we PO'.  But he did tell me for the first time that I was his best friend and for some reason, that was sooo much better than when he said the "L" word.  So that was a gift in itself.  I'm so good...I'm such a cheap date! hahahaha!

oh, and I got my hair cut...it's short again...real short.  hee hee.

  • HELLOOOOOOOO A-ROD!!!!

  • today, i was watching A Perfect Wedding on TLC...and the couple getting married were named Jen and Lenny.  hee hee hee.

  • Round 1: DEAN'S LIST, baby

    Round 2: tired...

  • Bostonian fans are idiots.  Only in Boston do people "celebrate" by tipping over cars of their fellow fans, by driving drunk through crowded streets and killing people, by smashing the windshields of news vans covering the revelers.  Today, there is more coverage on the violence that occurred than on the victory itself.  Leave it to Boston to overshadow a great game with acts of stupidity.  They had the RIOT police there...and they actually had to HOSE people down to maintain the crowds.

On a side note, I got asked numerous times whether or not "celebrations" in New York were worse.  NO WAY.  When New York celebrates, we're smart....we're only violent towards fans from the OTHER team...not our OWN team.  hee hee.....

The 56-foot dead whale had been on a truck headed for an autopsy at a university earlier this week, when gases from internal decay caused its entrails to explode in the southern city of Tainan.

The whale had died after it was beached on the southwestern coast of the island.
