  • Last night, I heard one of my hamsters SNORING...NO LIE! It was the CUTEST thing.  It pretty much sounded like soft squeaking...i LOVE my hamsters.

Onto a totally different subject.  I've heard people in my lab use the phrase "those ones" when referring to certain objects.  That isn't gramatically correct is it? But EVERYONE here says it..."do you want me to process those ones (while pointing at samples)?"  I'm SURE it's not right...it's just "those"..."do you want me to process those?"  am i right?  stupid scientists!

  • Last night i went to see Aida (the broadway one) with my female best friend/lesbian lover.  It was SOOO SOOOOOOOO good.  It is by FAR my favorite broadway show to date.  It blew all the others away.  Of course...how can you go wrong with a storyline that's been around for CENTURIES.  I saw Aida the opera when I was younger, so I already knew and loved the storyline.  I think it's THE ULTIMATE love story...even better than Romeo and Juliet.  And of course I LOVE the fact that Aida had attitude.

Anyhow, the cast was phenomenal and could sing AND dance really really well.  You could totally tell that a lot of them had professional training in classical and ethnic dance. Oh, and the dance choreography was SOOO good.  TOTALLY not your typical broadway-do the can can type dance.  Since Aida is set in Egypt/Africa, the dancing was totally modern dance mixed with African tribal dancing and a little bit of kung fu style dancing for the guy dancers. SOOOO good.  I LOOOOVE that stuff.  OH, and ALL the guys had incredible bodies because they were basically topless a lot.  SOOO nice. hee hee.

Oh, and the best part, we had paid $55 for first row balcony seats.  And when we went to pick up the tix, the lady asked, "do you mind if i move you up closer?" So she gave us second row Mezzanine seats. SOOO good. i LOOVE sitting front mezzanine.  so much better than orchestra cuz you can actually see the entire stage w/o getting a crick in your neck.  but i TOTALLY recommend Aida....my new favorite broadway show!

  • On my feet are a pair of NEW REEBOK KICKS:

Who remembers Reeboks?!!! I never thought I'd be wearing those again (i don't know why i wrote "again"...i actually never wore Reeboks)...I remember back in the day...it was NOT cool to wear Reeboks...Nikes were the BIG thing.  only the UNCOOL still wore Reeboks.  Well, I was the COOLEST of them all.  I wore peach, snap-buckle sneakers brought over directly from TAIWAN via relatives.  Hey, why buy sneakers with laces when you can have PEACH, SNAP-BUCKLE sneakers FO' FREE.  (If i happened to outgrow my cool kicks before the next familial visit, we went straight to payless to pick me up some L.A. Gears...sometimes my parents would splurge and they'd let me get them flourescent colored shoelaces...yeah...cash money!)

So all through elementary school, I wore peach, snap-buckle sneakers with my many fashionable sweatsuits with bad English silkscreened on them.  Why buy jeans and Simpson's t-shirts when you can have sweatsuits...FO' FREE.  But, i guess I was just fashion forward.  Look at the trends now...EVERYONE's wearing sweatsuits...J. LO was inspired by ME!  Now you have people in Hicktown wearing a sweatshirt that reads "CROOKLYN"...that's even MORE ridiculous than my fobby english sweatshirts.  So anyhoo...I'm glad my parents subjected me to such fashion wonders...cuz now I don't care what i wear! i'm a cheapass when it comes to shopping for clothes...and anyhoo...i am now wearing Reeboks...and I am STILL cool!!!

Oh...and totally unrelated...but I went to Tiki Bar on friday...and had a Razberri Stoli Tonic...first drink i've had in a LOOONG time...actually first bar i've been to in a looong time.  Anyhoo...i get through 1/3 the drink...and i feel a little buzzed.  i LOST it...i lost my tolerance :( I can no longer say, i can drink a lot for my size...because now I can only drink about as much as ALDACE ... NOOOOOOOO!!! (btw...who knows what "aldace" stands for? I DO I DO!!!)

  • ok...little dilemna...I got into Massachusetts College of Pharmacy...good school...great affiliates...BUT, not my top choice school.  My top choice school is U. of Maryland (go TERPS!!!) BUT...my interview date is May 5th...and Massachusetts wants a deposit of 500 beans...NON REFUNDABLE bye May 1st.

Maryland is pretty hard to get into because they have a great program...so even tho i got the interview, it means nothing...so i can't just take my chances and not put down the deposit.  I already called Maryland, explaining the situation, and the said they couldn't move up the interview date because other student had the same predicament and it wouldn't be fair to them if they did it for me.  (i DID emphasize that maryland was my top choice...and mebbe mebbe they'll like me even MORE cuz I was willing to sacrifice $500 just for the CHANCE to get into their school).

okay...so the only other solution i can think of is to call up Massachusetts and ask them to extend my deposit date?! But I don't think it'll go over well considering that I'm actually interested in another school.  But before I do call, lemme know if you guys think this is a good idea...or if you have any other ideas....HOLLA BACK...you have 1 day....i'm gonna call them tomorrow afternoon....PLEASE PLEASE help me!!! oh and donate to the Jen's MCP deposit fund!!!

  • YEAH SYRACUUUUUUUUUUUUUSE!!!!

(hee hee...at Gospel Jam, when Chapter 6 were doing their Wizard of Oz routine...and that guy mentioned Kansas and then added, "Go Jay Hawks"...how many of you heard a girl scream out "SYRACUUUUSE"?  tee hee....yeah, what a RUDE RUDE girl!!!)

It's soooo good finally having a GOOD New York team to root for.   I used to root for the Knicks...but now there is nothing to root for...BUT I have NOT cheated on them...I do not root for any other teams...I DO root for Yao Ming though...but only him...not the Rockets.

Anyhow, I think I am now going to name my son Carmelo...so Jeyi99 and Lilgurl can have "Josiah"!!!

  • How to get many comments: Post a controversial statement about war...or any controversial statement!!! But just to clarify, you must understand that I love the United States...I think there's no place else like it on earth...I still well up sometimes when i hear the national anthem or any other patriotic song.  Everyone always wants to go travel internationally...i don't really have a desire to do so (well, except Spain...but that's because I'm part hispanic, so I want to discover my roots!!!)...I think anything you can find overseas, you can find in the US...great beaches...great parks..great cultural arts...great national monuments and sights...great nightlife...great looking girls..tee hee.  I guess i've always had this slightly unrealistic, over-idealized  view of the US...and it just kind of shocked me that the US would  engage in a more or less, pre-emptive strike against a country that surely can not beat us without outside help.  And for reason that are partially noble, partially selfish.

  • *sob*  My little runt hamster was non-alive when i got home :( Now i only have FIVE hamsters...Time to mate more! tee hee!

Every day, i look at the slide shows on the war provided by nytimes.com.  I don't know why i do it...all the pictures are heartbreaking and it makes me so sad to look at them...but I do it every single day...without fail.  In one of the pictures, you see a little Iraqi girl lying on the floor. The caption explains that she was injured during one of the attacks and there weren't enough hospital beds around since so many civilians were injured....so she had to sleep on the floor.  just a sheet over her...no bedding...no pillow...nothing.  And there's another one showing a father crouching next too several small coffins...his children were killed during the attacks...This is what our men are dying for? This is "freedom"?

  • well, it feels weird getting that acceptance packet....but good weird.  Now i can tell my mom that I am indeed going to be a DOCTOR....of pharmacy. hee hee.  but now i check my application status religiously for all my other schools...like every 10 minutes i check....cuz i don't really like BAWston...and it's expensive as heck to live there....MARYLAND MARYLAND MARYLAND...please please please.

Anyhow, i have some sad news to report.  One of my female hamsters has expired...*sob*  may she rest in peace...that STUPID STUPID hamster.  I get home Sunday...and as i'm feeding them I usually count them to make sure they're all there.  So i count...one, two three....(there should be four).  I only see three.  So I get a certain relative of mine to come and double check.  yep, only three.  And she just happened to look to her right....and on the floor was number FOUR...looking very much non-alive.  So we both screamed...and I tried to get my certain relative to pick it up, but she wouldn't :(

So apparently, SOMEHOW...i still do not know how, that hamster got out...and since i have the cage on something else, it's a pretty long fall to the ground...and she must've broken something.  Cuz that certain relative of mine said that they were all there on saturday.  and they don't die from lack of food/water from just one night.  But anyways, i held up the non-alive hamster for her sisters to see and told them, "SEE? SEE what happens when you try to escape? there's nothing good out there."

And THEN, this morning, i get up...and i see my little runt female just lying on her belly out in the middle of the cage...(which is weird cuz they usually all sleep together in their little house).  And so i knock on the cage and she just moves her head a little (which is REALLY weird cuz she usually jumps right up).  And so i was like OH NO...so I reach in and pick her up...and she's barely moving...and breathing really hard.  And so I hold her over the bowl of water so that she could drink some...and as she's drinking, i feel like clicking...sorta like bones clicking together on her belly.  Keep in mind that this hamster was TOTALLY normal last night.  This runt hamster likes to jump from the house and grap the top of the cage....so she probably fell on the house or something  and broken some bones too.  STUPID STUPID hamsters.  So I think she will be non-alive by the time i get home.  sniff sniff.  And then there were FIVE.....
