  • I miss reading for fun.  I remember when i was little, i would go to the library EVERY week.  Heck yeah, i was a dork.  i would take out 20-30 books a week (or whatever the maximum was) and i would read them all. My goal was to read ALL the books in the library.

in the summer times, my mom would sign us up for the summer reading club.  For every book you read, the higher your name would be placed on the reading tree.  Mine was always on the top (OH YEAH, i love winning).  I won myself many bookmarks!!! And as a result of all my hard work, i developed poor vision and had to wear BIG, red glasses for most of my life.  Sigh.

Right now, I am a big fan of Oprah’s book club!! hee hee! At first, when she started it, i thought it was dumb…just another way for her to get her name on something.  And I thought the books on the show would be like self-help books (i already have plenty of those sitting in my bookshelf…unread.  My mom gives them to me every year for Christmas!!!!).  But the books are really good!!!  There are a lot of books dealing with African-American culture/issues and many written by acclaimed African-American authors (toni morrison, maya angelou).  Which is good for my inner black self!! So my goal is to read ALL of them…yeah, yeah, i know, still a dork.

So if you have some, lend them to me!!! I promise to take very good care of them.  I will turn the page w/o wrinkling it…I will not crease the binding…and I will not dog-ear the pages!!!

  • You sick reading rainbow freak, what kinda of a fool reads for fun?? People read b/c they have to, not because they want to. Reading is so inefficient, watch a movie, it’s fasterest and stop wasting you life reading books.

  • Interpreting Maladies (by Jhumpa Lahiri) is really good.  I don’t know if it’s on Oprah’s book club, but it won a Pulitzer.  I have it too, if you want to borrow.  Booger320 can also give you a book review.  =)
